Bill Torhorst founded William R. Torhorst & Associates in May of 1978 to deliver a full range of insurance products to his local community. His dedication to building trust and being honest with clients while helping them meet their insurance needs remains the core philosophy of Torhorst & Associates today.
Bill, who says he wakes up everyday excited to help people and does so with a big smile, specializes broadly in personal, business and life insurance. He received his degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Business.
A member of the Oregon community for more than 25 years, Bill is a member and former president of the Oregon Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife have three grown children. They love to spend time outdoors through all four seasons in Wisconsin and actively support many causes and organizations in the community.
In 1991, shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Economics, Randy began his career in the insurance and financial services industry in the home office of a securities broker. Next he moved to serving as an internal wholesaler, marketing insurance products to agents across the upper Midwest, and eventually becoming an external wholesaler. He expanded his selling group to include insurance agents, stockbrokers and bankers selling primarily life insurance and annuities products.
He transitioned into the retail side of insurance sales in 2004, with a broad focus across the insurance spectrum. He joined the team of his longtime friend and colleague Bill Torhorst in 2012. A leader and educator, Randy has taught more than 1,000 hours of continuing education classes in the insurance industry.
He lives in Stoughton with his wife, Elise, and their two boys. The family stays active and busy with high school sports and a host of outdoor activities.
Katelyn has been in the insurance industry since 2012 and specializes in home, auto and business insurance. After graduating Baraboo High School with a perfect 4.0, Katelyn spent six years as a hair stylist and then went on to obtain her insurance license and is currently in the process of obtaining her CPCU designation.
Always trying to exceed expectations is Katelyn’s first priority, frequently visiting clients at their home or business if they can’t make it into the office, and working as efficiently as possible to meet needs quickly while ensuring things are handled with the utmost care and attention.
Katelyn lives in Oregon with her two dogs, Twinkie and Blue (who is a frequent visitor at the office). She spends her free time hiking, hunting, bowling and playing outdoors. She volunteers her time each year helping with the Relay for Life event as well as the Breast Cancer Recovery organization.
The newest member of the Torhorst & Associates team, Callie is starting off her career in the insurance industry by focusing on quoting policies for current and new clients and providing customer service support across the agency.
Callie has completed training as an administrative assistant as well as coursework in personal and commercial insurance that served as the foundation of her passing both state exams to become a licensed agent in Wisconsin. Her approach is welcoming and friendly, always working to ensure that clients feel comfortable and that their needs are being met.
Callie lives in Stoughton with her husband, and they welcomed their first child in early 2016. In addition to doting on their young son, they care for their three pets and love hanging out, fishing and enjoying the scenery at their family cabin in northern Wisconsin.
